The Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend combines the best of traditional and contemporary New England Contradance and music in the ballroom of the UNH Memorial Union Building in Durham, NH.
You will dance to energetic and elegant music and calling, by David Millstone, Riptide (Alden Robinson, Owen Marshall, and Glen Loper), Carol Ormand, Rodney Miller & Friends (Rodney Miller, David Surette, and Gordon Peery), Mary Wesley, the Sugar River String Band (Jane Orzechowski & family with Deanna Stiles), and many others. There will be a retrospective featuring One Hundred Years of CDSS, the Country Dance & Song Society, and the dance history that CDSS repesents. CDSS president David Milstone will help us celebrate this centennial CDSS anniversary. And be sure to join us for the Grand Dance on Saturday evening, as well as our workshops for musicians, callers, and dancers, and photographers, too, with a workshop by Doug Plummer!
In addition, we will celebrate the contributions of musician and composer, Bob McQuillen, who we lost this past February. with stories and music, throughout the weekend. Bob attended every one of the first 26 Ralph Page weekends, from the beginning, until 2013.
NEW THIS YEAR: We now have the Open Mic applications available online. If you wish to call a dance on Sunday morning, fill out this form and bring it with you to leave at the registration desk.
Be sure to check the University of New Hampshire library's Special Collection of Traditional Dance and Music archives.
