The Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend combines the best of traditional and contemporary New England Contradance and music in the ballroom of the UNH Memorial Union Building in Durham, NH.
You will dance, this winter, to energetic and elegant music and calling, by Dave Eisenstadter, Chrissy Fowler, Old Grey Goose, Tony Parkes, Pete's Posse (Pete Sutherland, Oliver Scanlon, and Tristan Henderson), Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki's Trio, and many others.
There will be a retrospective featuring the inimitable Ralph Page with his Orchestra. (Details to follow!) And be sure to join us for the Grand Dance on Saturday evening, as well as our workshops for musicians, callers, and dancers!
In addition 2 special events will be included this year. First, the exhibit titled, "Gents Bow, Ladies Know How”: Traditional Dance in the Monadnock Region, 1750-2015, created by The Monadnock Folklore Society and the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, will be available for viewing in the UNH Diamond Library. In addition, Randy Miller will present a history of the Music of John Taggert, a Monadnock region and Western Mass. fiddler of the 19th century.
